Influenster Holiday Voxbox Review: Larbar and Mentos

 

Here is a review on two products from my Influenster Holiday Voxbox. 

Larabar, Cherry Pie bar

Packaging: Traditional energy bar size, wrapped in printed plastic.  Colorful and descriptive.  Appearance: Rectangular bar, organic-looking, moist enough to keep it packed together but not moist enough to cause condensation in the wrapper Thoughts: This isn’t my first experience with Larabar, possibly my last.  The flavor I received was Cherry Pie, and it was okay.  It tasted of cherries and had a little sweetness to it, thanks to the dates, without being overpowering.  There are three ingredients: dates, almonds, and unsweetened cherries.  No preservatives or extra “flavor” added, just unprocessed almonds, dates and cherries pressed into a bar.  These are ideal for taking on road trips or out hiking and camping.  They’re easy to slip into a pocket (especially if you get the new “mini” size) and are about as healthy and natural as you can get in an energy bar.  Occasionally I can go too long between meals and need to eat RIGHT NOW, and these are great to in my purse for emergencies for a long time.  You can buy these at most grocery stores and online, and your local Costco might also sell them in bulk.  Highly recommended! Verdict: Would definitely buy it depending on the other flavors. Rating: 4.5/5

Mentos Pure Fresh Sugarfree Chewing Gum

Packaging: Easy to open while still keeping the gum inside fresh, the tube fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.  Appearance: The same size as the Mentos chewy fruit candies that come in a roll, these gum tablets are white speckled with bright blue with a hollow, mint gel-filled center Thoughts: I usually don't chew gum, but these were pretty good!  The tablet is initially a little crunchy feeling as you bite through the outer shell, then releases a burst of mint as the flavored gel inside touches your tongue.  The first few minutes of chewing it are a little like chewing candy and are when the flavor profile is the strongest.  After that, the gum feels like normal gum (the non-sticky kind that won’t break your jaw to chew) but the minty freshness sticks around for a while.  It’s also sugarfree!
